Whether I was cooking professionally, teaching others, or simply making dinner for my family, the best part has always been helping people feel comfortable around food and cooking.
But what excites me most isn’t creating fancy meals. It’s helping people who feel intimidated by cooking realize they can do this.
That’s why I created Crocked Under Pressure.
This is a place for beginner cooks, busy families, young adults heading out on their own, and anyone who wants to feel more confident in the kitchen. Here you’ll find simple recipes, cooking tips, kitchen know-how, and encouragement to help you build real kitchen confidence—without stress, perfection, or overwhelm.
If you’ve ever looked at a recipe and thought, “I can’t do that,” you’re in the right place.
If you’ve ever felt embarrassed to ask a cooking question, you’re in the right place.
If you’ve ever been afraid of messing up dinner, you’re definitely in the right place. There is no judgment here.
I’ve had plenty of cooking disasters over the years. We’ve all burned something, forgotten an ingredient, overcooked a roast, or had a recipe turn into something completely different than expected. Sometimes pizza saves the day, and that’s okay too.
My goal is to help you understand cooking, not just follow recipes. When you understand a few simple concepts, cooking becomes easier, less stressful, and a lot more enjoyable.
I want to show you that the kitchen doesn’t have to be intimidating. The appliances don’t bite, mistakes are part of learning, and confidence comes one meal at a time.
So pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea, and join me at the kitchen table. I’d love to help you feel more comfortable in the kitchen and discover that cooking can actually be fun.
Welcome to my kitchen table. I’m glad you’re here.
